Web を発案し開発した Tim Berners-Lee 氏が、モバイル機器用として新たにトップレベルドメイン (TLD) を作成する計画を批判し、検討中の「.MOBI」ドメインは利用機器に対する非依存性を損い、Web を2つに分断してしまうと警鐘を鳴らした。
By choice of suitable mobile-specific technologies, the service offering can be adapted to mobile-specific characteristics, such as the limitations of mobile networks and devices (throughput, temporary signal loss, etc), which will result in a better user experience for those services.
本当にユーザのためなんでしょうか。
それに、移動端末だとか、そんな区分に今後なんの意味があるんだろう。
